- Turkish Festival Honours Angelopoulos
Theodoros Angelopoulos was this year’s guest of honour at the Altin Kotza International Film Festival of the Turkish city of Adana.
The festival featured special tribute programme with screenings of his films including The Beekeeper, The Suspended Step of the Stork, Ulysses’ Gaze and Eternity and a Day.
In his speech at the Adana Municipal Theater, the Greek director said that "We must take a necessary lesson from our historical past and thus proceed together towards the future. A sea unites us. We can solve our problems together."

The 17th Greek Film Festival in Australia opens on October 7, bringing to four Australian cities an eclectic line-up of Greek cinema: 17 films, many of which are making their Australian premieres after screenings in festivals around the world.
Screenings start in Adelaide (October 7 to 10), and continue in Melbourne (October 13 to 31), Sydney (October 14 to 31) and Brisbane. The Festival will open with The Dust of Time by Theodoros Angelopoulos and Deep Soul by Pantelis Voulgaris, with the latter’s leading actress Victoria Haralampidou as a guest.
