European People's Party (EPP) president and former Belgian Prime minister Wilfred Martens was in Athens on the occasion of the presentation of his book Europe: I struggle, I overcome.
Presenting the book, opposition New Democracy (ND) party leader Antonis Samaras said that "a Europe of unity and solidarity must defeat a Europe of mutual distrust," noting that "the crisis is no longer Greek any more. It is touching more and more countries. It is already touching the heart of Europe."
The event was held, on December 20, at the Constantinos Karamanlis Institute for Democracy.
