The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) ranked 18th in the Euro Research Ranking List, published by the European Commission, for the year 2010. ResearchRanking evaluates European research institutions based on their performance, networking activity and diversity of research areas. Scoring results are published for Europe’s top 100 institutions.


In country ranking, Greece ranks in 11th place, with Germany, the United Kingdom and France occupying the top three places. The National Technical University of Athens scored its highest at the networking criterion, measured in terms of global reputation, where it gained the 9th place.

NTUA is the oldest and most prestigious educational institution of Greece in the field of technology, and has contributed unceasingly to the country's scientific, technical and economic development since its foundation in 1836.
