  • Agenor Asteriadis Retrospective @ Benaki
The Benaki Museum (Pireos Annexe) is hosting until November 20 a retrospective exhibition of works by Agenor Asteriadis.

Under the title Agenor Asteriadis 1898-1977, the exhibition looks at one of the most important representatives of the artists, who collectively are referred to as the Thirties Generation; who contributed to a renaissance of Greek art in the Interwar years, combining the teachings of the European avant-garde with references to Greek tradition.

The exhibition features 150 works by Asteriadis from various collections, unpublished drawings and watercolours, as well as material from his private archive.

  • Russia’s Cossacks dance @ Badminton
Widely acknowledged as Russia's premiere Cossack dance troupe, the Russian State Cossack Dance Company is coming to Athens, to Badminton Theatre for 3 performances on October 28-30. With 40 dancers, musicians and singers, the company’s performances bring to the fore Cossack life and the cultural heritage of many regions of the Russian Cossacks -from River Don and the Black Sea to Siberia and the Far East. The programme includes more than 20 dances, 50 solo songs.

  • The War Cry @ Megaron
The Athens Concert Hall is hosting the 2nd concert of the Athens State Orchestra (KOA), on October 28. The concert titled The War Cry, features the works of two leading composers of the 20th century: Aram Khachaturian’s Concerto for piano and orchestra and Dmitry Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 7 in C major, project 60 "Leningrad". The concert is the first performance of the Sacrifice Cycle.
