The women's water polo national team qualified for the Final of the 2012 European Championship taking place in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

The Greek team defeated Hungary in the semifinal with a 14-12 score on January 26. Antigoni Roumpesi scored five goals and was declared player of the match for her significant effort.

Now the reigning world champions will face Italy for the gold medal in the final, on January 28. The two teams met at their opening qualifying match of the tournament on January 18, with Greece winning by 10-9.
