The 2nd Athens Open Air Film Festival is organised by the Greek Film Center and the Athens International Film Festival, and co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

The festival, which opened few days ago, will last until September. One of the main objectives is to "advertise" the various corners of the city’s centre and suburbs, given that it will be taking place in various public spaces such as parks and squares.

The festival consists of several cycles, including: a tribute to "Summer in Athens", with Greek films depicting everyday stories using the capital as a background or as a character itself; 6 short films set in Athens, commissioned by the Greek Film Center to 6 young directors; Greek short films that received distinctions at the Drama Short Film Festival and a selection of international cinema classics.
