A well-kept secret of the Greek household is to become the latest entry in the refreshment shelves of American super-markets.

Either hot and honeyed in the winter or iced with lemon in the summer, the Greek wild tea (mountain tea or tsai tou vounou in Greek) is a staple of Greek diet. Now this traditional flavor will be commercialized and exported abroad for the first time.

Macedonian Brewery is launching Tuvunû, an organic, iced mountain tea with honey and lemon. The company plantations in Thrace, as well as independent producers of the area will provide the organic tea. Tuvunû will appear in the US and the Greek market in early July, while its European launch is expected by the end of 2012.
