An international exhibition titled Climate Change: The Threat to Life and a New Energy Future opened its doors on June 6 at the International Exhibition Center of Crete in Heraklion. Addressing one of the most complex and urgent scientific and social issues of the 21st century, the exhibition explains the science of climate change to visitors of all ages and explores the implications of climate change for future generations.
The Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) and Cretaquarium have worked in collaboration with the renowned American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) in New York to present this exhibition which has been on an international tour since it closed at the AMNH in August 2009.
Cretaquarium has supplemented the exhibition with thematic exhibits drawn from the Mediterranean as well as Greek waters, presenting data from research work by HMCR and other scientific bodies. The exhibition runs through late September.
