  • Sacha Waltz @ Atticus Odeon

Renowned choreographer Sacha Waltz returns to the Athens Festival.The Berlin-based choreographer presents Continu, a new ritualistic choreography that negotiates the contrast between the primal emotion and the intellect, with music by Edgard Varèse, Iannis Xenakis and Claude Vivier.

At the Herod Atticus Odeon on July 11.

  • EU: Crisis Or Demise @ Pireos 260
     A visual art exhibition featuring works by Natascha Sadr Haghighian and Michael Landy is hosted at the Pireos 260 venue of the Athens Festival.



    The exhibition, titled EU: Crisis Or Demise, addresses the future of the European Union, which started as a promise and is now often viewed as a deception by its critics.

    It’s The Political Economy @ Thessaloniki
       An art exhibition addressing issues of neoliberal consensus and globalization is hosted at the Contemporary Art Centre in Thessaloniki’s Port.

       The exhibition, titled It’s The Political Economy, Stupid, features artists from around the world. It will be on display until September 29 , and will then travel to Helsinki.

       Tribute to Domna Samiou @ Atticon Odeon

       The Athens Festival will host a special tribute concert to recently deceased folk music singer Domna Samiou.

      This unique, one- time only concert will feature an all-star cast of Greek singers, who pay tribute to the matriarch of Greek folk music. At the Herod Atticus Odeon on July 8.

      • Vienna Philharmonic @ Megaron 
      The Athens Concert Hall hosts the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.


       For one unique performance on July 11, the world-renowned ensemble will present Mozart’s Turkish violin concerto and Beethoven’s Eroica.
