Kalamata, the city of dance, is set to host its 18th annual International Dance Festival from July 12 to 19, premiering with a performance by Philippe Decouflé and Company DCA's new production titled Panorama, a spectacular, humorous and surprise-filled journey into a magical world inhabited by strange creatures and exceptional dancers.

Decouflé, a French choreographer, dancer, mime artist and theatre director, is one of France's most talented choreographers and well-known around the world, partly thanks to incomparable choreography of the opening and closing ceremony of the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France.

In tandem with performances, three workshops will take place: On July 11-19 a Contemporary Dance Workshop led by Iñaki Azpillaga, on July 13-18; a Choreography Workshop on Yvonne Rainer’s "Trio A" led by Pat Catterson, and on July 11-19, a Dramaturgy Workshop, led by Lou Cope.
