A new synergy between the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare was announced yesterday by the Ministry’s Deputy Minister Fofi Gennimata.
The Foundation will grant a €5 million project which plans to modernize intensive care units in children’s hospitals and paediatric departments in general hospitals, as well as provide upgraded healthcare for children.
By the time the programme is completed in 2012, 47 new beds, 19 healthcare units, as well as extensive equipment, vehicles and specialized medical staff will be made available to the public. The Foundation’s social welfare grants are being administrated in the context of the health and medicine grants programme in Greece and abroad.
