Austerity is not the only show in Athens, writes British historian Robin Lane Fox in an article published in the Financial Times (3.6), under the title "Eretria, National Archaeological Museum, Athens."
The article describes the exhibition "Eretria: Insights into an Ancient City," currently on display at the National Archaeological Museum of Athens - a co-production with the Swiss School of Archaeology that has been conducting excavations at Eretria for the last 50 years.
This important exhibition, writes Lane Fox – author of the book "Travelling Heroes"- "establishes Eretria, as the site where a continuity of more than a thousand years can be brilliantly displayed: I have never seen a show that better illustrates so many sides of Greek culture across such a time span. It is a presentational triumph."
