Greece remains the first choice for Serbian holidaymakers according to a survey by the Serbian National Association of Travel Agencies (YUTA) with 59 % of participants opting for Greece over other attractive destinations such as Spain and Turkey.
The Serbian ambassador Dragan Zupanjevac, upon a meeting with the second vice- President of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, assured him that 500,000 Serbs are expected to visit Greece in 2010 owing to the recent abolition of entry visas.
Northern Greece - especially Halkidiki - is the most popular destination among the Serbs who are now starting to discover the lures of the Ionian Islands, the Peloponnese and Crete.
