The "Readers of Homer," in cooperation with The Maria Tsakos Foundation, organised a series of cultural events dedicated to Homer and his epics, which took place from May 14 to 22 in Montevideo, Uruguay.
"Jornadas Homericas" were centred on the reading and singing of "The Odyssey" and "The Iliad" by 500 young people and teachers from across Uruguay, North and South America, as well as Europe.
The "Readers of Homer" is a non-profit organisation that arranges day-long or night-long audience-participation readings of Homer’s epics around the world, aiming to honour the great art of Homer and revive the experience of communal storytelling. Upcoming events include one to be held on the island of Kos in August and in New York City in November.
