Greek Language Brings Together Scholars and Greek-Speaking Communities in Southern Italy

The enduring legacy of the Greek language was celebrated in the heart of Grecia Salentina, the historic Greek-speaking region of Italy's Salento Peninsula, where the Hellenic heritage of Southern Italy remains alive and the Griko language continues to be spoken.

The 10th Conference on "Modern Greek Language and Literature Beyond Greece's Borders" was held under the auspices of the Embassy of Greece in Rome, bringing together academics, researchers, and members of the local Greek-speaking communities.

Organized by the Italian Association of Modern Greek Studies (ANSN) from 24 to 26 June, the conference once again demonstrated that the Greek language continues to transcend national borders, serving as a bridge between cultures and fostering dialogue, scholarship, and shared cultural heritage.

Diachronic Archaeological Museum Opens on Greece's Remote Island of Agathonisi

The Diachronic Archaeological Museum was officially inaugurated on the remote Aegean island of Agathonisi, marking the latest addition to Greece's efforts to preserve and promote its cultural heritage. Τhe museum is the 33rd new or fully renovated museum delivered to the public by the Ministry of Culture since 2019.

According to the Ministry of Culture, the museum represents a significant investment in safeguarding Greece's archaeological heritage while reaffirming the state's continued commitment to the country's remote Aegean islands.

The inauguration ceremony was led by President of the Hellenic Republic Konstantinos Tasoulas, in the presence of Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni, highlighting the museum's importance in preserving historical memory, strengthening cultural identity, and supporting the development of Greece's border island communities.

Engineering the Future: Greek Scientists and Business Leaders Meet at the Annual HIAS Symposium

"Engineering the Future: Intelligent Health and Resilient Infrastructure Systems" is the theme of this year's symposium organized by the Hellenic Institute of Advanced Studies (HIAS), a non-profit organization of Greek scientists of the diaspora. The symposium will take place on 16–17 July 2026 at the Athens Conservatoire, in collaboration with Columbia Global Center Athens and Endeavor Greece.

The event will bring together 30 distinguished Greek scientists from leading universities and research institutions in Greece and abroad, along with prominent leaders from the business community, industry, and the public sector. The aim is to highlight how science, engineering, and Artificial Intelligence can provide solutions to some of today's most pressing challenges—from healthcare to critical infrastructure—through collaboration among universities, research organizations, businesses, and government.
