🎨✨ “Female Angels” | A Celebration of the Art of Odysseas Elytis

The Elytis' House Museum presents “Female Angels”, a special exhibition exploring the feminine presence and the figure of the girl through the artistic world of Nobel Prize-winning Greek poet Odysseas Elytis.

The exhibition brings together a selection of Elytis’s paintings and visual compositions, alongside works by artists from his circle, offering a unique insight into the relationship between poetry and visual art in his creative universe.

Reflecting on Elytis’s artistic work, the exhibition curator, Takis Mavrotas, notes:

“Everything, for us Greeks, takes form. Elytis’s work possesses solidity and endurance, as his visual art expresses a sense of wholeness and a shared quest for the essence of life. His poetry and painting remain autonomous realms of his creative expression, defined by the dialectical relationship between them. He himself understood how difficult it is to follow the path of painting and to convey one’s vision through images of profound aesthetic resonance, images that approach the archetypal world of permanence.”
