“The entire team of the Ethnological Museum of Thrace and I personally are deeply moved by this award. This second European recognition confirms the philosophy that guides our work: that museums belong to society.”

The BioInnovation Greece Forum 2026 took place from October 1 to 4, 2026, at Technopolis City of Athens, bringing together leading representatives from the fields of biotechnology, healthcare, research, start-ups, investment, and public policy.
The forum aims to strengthen Greece’s position as an emerging hub for life sciences and innovation. Its focus is on knowledge exchange, new partnerships, and cross-sector collaboration, connecting the Greek innovation ecosystem with the international community.
Among the forum’s speakers were Maira Myrogianni, Secretary General for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy, and Katerina Koika, Director General of the General Directorate E1 for Public Diplomacy.
Ms. Myrogianni stated:
“It gives me great pleasure to see initiatives that foster connections among scientists, such as BioInnovation Greece, continuously developing and expanding.
At the 4th BioInnovation Greece Forum, I emphasized that this initiative is a compelling example of the multiplier effect that science diplomacy can have for Greece.
The Greek government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs fully recognize the importance of such initiatives and support projects such as that led by the renowned scientist Kyrpides and his colleagues—an effort that is receiving increasing recognition within the global research and innovation community year after year.”
