⛵ Maritime Tourism at the Heart of Greece’s Tourism Strategy

Minister of Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni highlighted the Government’s strategic priority of developing maritime tourism through investment in modern infrastructure and the enhancement of service quality at the opening ceremony of the 6th Olympic Yacht Show, where she represented Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The Minister underscored the contribution of maritime tourism to the national economy and its wide-ranging benefits, particularly for Greece’s islands and coastal regions. As she noted, its development supports the country’s key strategic objectives for tourism: fostering a high-quality, sustainable and more balanced model of growth that respects the natural and cultural environment and generates lasting value for the country, local communities, businesses and workers. It also helps spread the benefits of tourism across a wider range of destinations and throughout more of the year.

In closing, she noted: “We are investing in maritime tourism to further establish Greece as a destination synonymous with quality and world-class, cutting-edge services. We will continue working closely with industry stakeholders, businesses and professionals to ensure that Greece makes even more effective use of all its comparative advantages.”
