Greek Universities come closer to the young people of the Diaspora

A cooperation protocol for the connection of the academic world of Greece with the Greek Diaspora and the support of the internationalization of Greek Higher Education was recently signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Study in Greece. The aim of the bilateral cooperation is to promote abroad the Greek universities and their international study programs, as well as to develop contacts between Greek and foreign universities for the design and implementation of joint programs and activities. Particular emphasis is placed on the use of digital tools, while at the same time, efforts are being made to implement summer and winter educational programs in cooperation with Greek Universities, with a focus on the Greek Diaspora, combining online and face-to-face courses in Greek language, history and culture.

Distinctions for the University of Macedonia in the European final of the Huawei ICT competition

The University of Macedonia will represent not only Greece but also the rest of Europe as part of Huawei’s ICT Academy, in the international final of the competition which will be held in May in China. The team of the University of Macedonia is the first Greek team to secure a place in the European and world final. The selection was made after the important distinction achieved in the European Final of the Huawei ICT competition which took place in Istanbul in April, where it won 2nd place in the category “Innovation”. At the same time, it won two more distinctions in the categories “Outstanding ICT Academy” at European level and the “Outstanding Instructor Award” at European level. Congratulations!

2nd Sacred Music Festival

Thousands of music lovers attended the second edition of the Sacred Music Festival, which lasted three days, from Palm Sunday April 28 to Holy Tuesday April 30, 2024, expanding to new venues in Athens, including the garden of the Presidential Mansion, the B&E Goulandris Foundation, St. Paul’s Anglican Church Athens Greece, the First Greek Evangelical Church, the old Athens Stock Exchange and two halls at the Greek National Opera at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center.

The Festival, under the artistic direction of Giorgos Koumentakis, presented a marathon of more than 50 concerts and artistic events, exploring various aspects of the relationship between worship and music.

Thessaloniki International Book Fair: 20 years of books and ideas!

This year, the Thessaloniki International Book Fair celebrates 20 years of successful and dynamic presence in the field of publishing and promises a unique experience for the reading public, young and old friends of Greek and world literature.
