The implementation of an extensive infrastructure program, spanning the entire country and aiming to upgrade Greece’s geostrategic role, is in full progress.

As recently emphasized by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Dimas, the country is in a phase of intense construction activity, with projects that act as a driver of economic recovery and sustainable development. “We are modernizing the existing network and creating new infrastructure, strengthening Greece’s position as a critical hub for international freight transport,” he noted.

A central role in the planning is played by the European connectivity corridors, with Greece actively participating in the Baltic–Black Sea–Aegean Corridor and the Western Balkans–Eastern Mediterranean Corridor. These axes are no longer limited to the transport of goods and passengers, but incorporate critical functions related to energy, security, and the resilience of supply chains, thereby enhancing the country’s role in the European and international environment.

The Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, opened the proceedings of the International Conference titled “Greek Craftsmanship: Contemporary Trends and Prospects,” organized by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the University of West Attica, the University of West Macedonia, and the University of Thessaly, from April 16 to 18 at the Acropole Palace.

The conference marks the completion of the Ministry of Culture’s Strategic Revival Program for Greek Craftsmanship, entitled “Educational Program for the Development of Skills Related to Craftsmanship.” The program was implemented with funding from the Recovery Fund, creating 19 craft structures across the country.

The conference proceedings focus on the prospects of Greek craftsmanship, the sustainable development of the sector, and its integration into contemporary cultural and economic life, while also highlighting current international trends and practices. Distinguished representatives of the academic community from Greece and abroad are taking part.
