Inside “Escape Room”

The Greek Pavilion at the 61st International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia has officially opened to the international public with Escape Room, a large-scale installation by internationally acclaimed artist and architect Andreas Angelidakis.

A five-year action plan, “Greece On Screen,” launched by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center Ελληνικό Κέντρο Κινηματογράφου, Οπτικοακουστικών Μέσων & Δημιουργίας (E.K.K.O.ME.D.), aims to develop the audiovisual creative economy with a total budget of €750 million for the 2026–2030 period. The Action Plan approved by the Cabinet, constitutes a comprehensive national strategy that invests in production, knowledge, innovation, and people. It will be implemented by the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center (E.K.K.O.ME.D.) and establishes a coherent policy framework covering the entire creative production ecosystem, from cinema and television to animation, video games, and music festivals.

The International Archaeological and Cultural Documentary Festival – AGON, International Archaeological and Cultural Doc Fest , celebrating 30 years of continuous presence this year, has become one of the most established and recognized institutions in the field of archaeological cinema. Since its founding in 1995 by Memi Spyratou, it has served as a platform for dialogue between culture, archaeology, and contemporary social issues, filling a significant gap on Greece’s cultural map. It will take place from May 25–30 at the Greek Film Archive.

At AGON, historical memory meets contemporary artistic expression, attracting creators from every corner of the globe. The Festival’s Preliminary and Jury Committees are composed of esteemed figures from the worlds of cinema, the arts, academia, and archaeology.
