The Cybersecurity Skills Coalition European Digital Infrastructure Consortium (CSC-EDIC), announced recently in Brussels, will be headquartered in Athens, with Greece, Cyprus, Austria, Croatia, and Slovenia serving as its founding members.

The CSC-EDIC will play a central role in implementing the EU Cybersecurity Skills Academy, helping to expand the adoption of ENISA's European Cybersecurity Skills Framework (ECSF) across industry.

The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) is also headquartered in Greece, with its main offices in Athens and an operational office in Heraklion, Crete.

A new chapter in the development of Greece's space infrastructure has begun with the successful launch of the Hyperion GR-1 microsatellite, the first Greek optical microsatellite developed under the National Microsatellite Program. This milestone gives Greece, for the first time, its own national optical Earth observation capabilities.

The initiative is a strategic investment aimed at strengthening the Greek public sector's capabilities in areas such as civil protection, environmental monitoring, maritime surveillance, precision agriculture, and the protection of critical infrastructure.

Creation of the National Museum for 1821

On July 9, 2026, the donation agreement for the creation of the National Museum for 1821 was signed by the Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, and the Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni. On behalf of the “Antonios E. Komninos Foundation”, which is making the donation, the agreement was signed by its President, Antonios Komninos. On behalf of the National Gallery – Alexandros Soutsos Museum, it was signed by the President of its Board of Directors, Olga Mentzafou.

The purpose of the donation agreement is to provide exclusive funding of up to €12 million for the preparation of the necessary studies and the restoration of the building complex of the Old Military Bakery, located within the Army Park in Goudi. The National Museum for 1821 will bring together, house, and showcase museum exhibits and historical heirlooms from public and private collections, with a focus on the Greek War of Independence (the Greek Revolution of 1821).
