🎨 The 𝐀𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐢 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐳𝐞—a monumental 4th-century BCE masterpiece from the royal tomb of 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩 𝐈𝐈 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐧—is being seen in full color again for the first time in over two millennia!

Thanks to the groundbreaking ReVis Project, led by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐢 and an interdisciplinary team, this iconic fresco has been digitally reconstructed at life-size using cutting-edge, non-invasive imaging techniques and AI-powered restoration.

🔍 Once nearly lost to time, this 5.5-meter-long hunting scene has now revealed new secrets about ancient Greek pigments, painting techniques, and royal symbolism.

🐗🦁 A 5.5-meter-long hunting scene, with scenes of mounted hunters, wounded prey, and a powerful narrative of dominance and order, the frieze may symbolize military strength—possibly alluding to 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭's role in the Battle of Chaeronea.

👏 This ambitious project, a collaboration between Εθνικό Iδρυμα Ερευνών/National Hellenic Research Foundation, NCSR "DEMOKRITOS", the Ephorate of Antiquities of Hemathia and funded by the Ελληνικό Ίδρυμα Έρευνας & Καινοτομίας - ΕΛΙΔΕΚ, shows how modern science, art, and archaeology can come together to breathe life back into the ancient world.

✨ Ancient Greek painting was brilliantly colorful and this accurate reconstruction of the original polychromy offers modern audiences a clearer view of this unique masterpiece!
