The Hellenic Space Technologies and Applications Cluster (si-Cluster), is a industrially-led and user-driven innovation cluster, the first and unique ecosystem in the of Space Technologies in Greece.
Currently, the si-Cluster consists of 50 members -including both large businesses and SMEs- while it is expanding its cooperation with other innovation actors, such as academia and research institutes, with the aim to develop Greece as a leading region for Space Technologies and Applications with a high international visibility. The Hellenic Association of Space Industry (HASI), in collaboration with the Corallia Clusters Initiative, have been instrumental in the si-Cluster's initiation and development and are driving it towards achieving a world-class cluster status.
An important step in this direction was awarding the si-Cluster with the Gold Label Excellence quality certification by the European Secretariat Analysis of Clusters (ESCA). This certification acknowledges cluster organisations that demonstrate highly sophisticated cluster management and that are committed to further improving their organisational structures and routines. Having developed a number of strategic partnerships, both in Greece and internationally, including with the Greek Department of Defense, the Aerospace Valley in France, the Puglia Space Cluster in Italy and the European Space Agency (ESA), the si-Cluster continues its expansion, strengthening and promoting synergies between the public sector, academia and industry.
Another Corallia cluster that was awarded this important distinction is the gi-Cluster (Gaming and Creative Technologies & Applications), which in just five years since its initiation, climbed the European ladder and is now among only the few Creative Industries clusters globally with a "Goold Label" for cluster Excellence.
Last but not least, the Corallia mi-Cluster, the first Nano/Microelectronics innovation cluster in Greece, was awarded the Silver Label of Cluster Management Excellence. mi-Cluster demonstrated improvements in the course of an audit conducted by the European Cluster Excellence Initiative and is ranked between the forty-one most efficient clusters in the field of Nano / Microelectronics and turned in a world class cluster.
Corallia is the first organisation established in Greece for the structured and systematic development of innovation clusters, with the strategic aim to develop cohesive and productive innovative ecosystems that will boost competitiveness, entrepreneurship and innovation, acting as a cluster facilitator in implementing specific support actions, involving industry, universities, research centres and financial institutions.
