The General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs Greek voters abroad regarding their participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections on Saturday, June 24, 2023

On Saturday 24 June, Greeks living abroad will go to the polls to exercise their voting rights in the general parliamentary elections. Greek voters residing outside of Greece will be able to vote from their place of residence abroad, if they so choose, instead of travelling to Greece (article 2 of Law 4648/2019).

The General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in close cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior, which is in charge of the election process, and with the continuous cooperation of the relevant Greek Diplomatic and Consular Missions, assists in the preparation of the election process and the operation of the electoral offices around the world, a significant number of which will be hosted in Embassies and other spaces belonging to Greek Authorities abroad.

25,610 voters were registered in the Special Electoral Rolls for Greeks residing abroad (compared to 22,855 in the elections of 20 May). Voters living abroad, as well as Greek seafarers who have not been included in the electoral rolls (article 6 of Law 4648/2019), will vote in 102 polling stations established in 35 countries (compared to 99 polling stations in the elections of 20 May). In order to set up a polling station in a city, a minimum of 40 voters had to be registered (Article 7 of Law 4648/2019).

All Greek registered voters residing abroad are called:

– To exercise their right to vote on Saturday June 24, 2023, with voting hours from 7.00 to 19.00 local time in each country.

– To confirm that they have been included in the electoral rolls and to confirm the exact address of the polling station where they are voting by using, before voting, the application ΜΑΘΕ ΠΟΥ ΨΗΦΙΖΕΙΣ (LEARN WHERE YOU VOTE) on the website of the Ministry of the Interior, https://mpp.ypes.gov.gr/#/, by filling in the fields their last name, first name, father’s name, year of birth.

– To come to the polling station carrying their Greek identity card or their Greek passport (the Election Committee confirms the identity card/passport details and verifies their registration in the special electoral rolls abroad).
